Does auto insurance have a late payment grace period?

Auto insurers are not required to offer grace periods or accept premium payment after the premium due date. The company must, however, send the policyholder a written notice identifying the final date of coverage and confirming the reason for cancellation. Nonpayment of premium requires a 10-day notice.
